The purpose of this study is to identify the factors that contribute to the everyday listening difficulties experienced by older and hearing-impaired adults in noise.

The purpose of this study is to identify the factors that contribute to the everyday listening difficulties experienced by older and hearing-impaired adults in noise.

Eligibility

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions:
    healthy
  • Age: Between 18 Years - 100 Years
  • Gender: All

Inclusion Criteria
Between 18 and 35 years of age with average pure-tone thresholds across 1,2, and 4 kHz at 15 dB HL or better
Above 55 years of age, ambulatory, and have a high frequency PTA at 15 dB HL or better
Above 55 years of age, ambulatory, and have a high frequency PTA at 35 dB HL or worse
All must be native English speakers
Exclusion Criteria
Non-native English speakers

This study takes place and is recruiting in Bloomington, IN.
