Overview

 This study is taking place currently in Indianapolis and Evansville, Indiana. 

Description

As part of Indiana University Grand Challenges Precision Health Initiative Diabetes Team, this prospective cohort study seeks to better understand and identify differences in women who develop gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) between those who don't. Participants will be asked to come for up to 5 in person research visits; three during pregnancy, two after you deliver your baby and phone or email contacts every 6 months for 2 yrs[SL1] [BSE2] .  At these visits, participants will be asked to provide blood and urine, answer questions about their pregnancy and health, and take surveys.  Participants will be given a Garmin activity monitor to wear  and will be asked to download a nutrition app to take photos of what they eat.
 
 
 

Eligibility

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions:
    gestational diabetes mellitus,diabetes,gestational diabetes,type 1,type I,type 2,type II
  • Age: Between 18 Years - 100 Years
  • Gender: Female

Inclusion Criteria
Pregnant with one child
Less than 20 weeks pregnant
 
Exclusion Criteria
 Current diagnosis of Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
