Psychoacoustics of Speech and Pitch in Human Listeners

Study Overview

The purpose of this study is to compare human speech and pitch perception under conditions where the sounds have been degraded by a noise-vocoder.

Study Description

The purpose of this study is to determine whether the mechanisms responsible for pitch perception and speech perception in human subjects are unique or special to the human nervous system or whether these are common neural mechanisms that exist across mammals.
