Overview

The purpose of this study is to determine if tissue from inside the bone that is typically discarded can be collected for gene expression analysis.

Description

Researchers will ask participants questions about their lifestyle and injury, and review medical records to record anything pertinent to their broken bone surgery.

At the time of surgery, samples of intramedullary canal tissue (tissue from inside the bone) will be obtained and sent to the research laboratory. This is tissue that is usually discarded.
