Overview

The purpose of this study is to help researchers understand how people respond to music.

Description

The purpose of this study is to investigate cognitive and emotional responses to short portions of songs that fall into four different categories: 1) music that has been normed and categorized as music people associate with staying home to relax or study alone, 2) music that has been normed and categorized as music people associate with going out to party with friends, 3) music that the subject identifies in a pre-survey as being music they associate with staying home to relax or study alone, and 4) music that the subject identified in a pre-survey as being music associated with going to party with friends.

Eligibility

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions:
    healthy
  • Age: Between 18 Years - 100 Years
  • Gender: All

Inclusion Criteria
Normal hearing
Able to read/understand English
Exclusion Criteria
Do not speak or read English
Wear hearing aids or for some other reason cannot hear song segments

This study takes place in Bloomington, IN.

Participants will be compensated for their participation.
