Medication Adherence Given Individual SystemCHANGE(TM) in Advancing Nephropathy (MAGICIAN) Pilot Study

Overview

The purpose of this study is to try new ways to improve the way that people with chronic kidney disease manage their health.

Description

Participants will complete surveys and use a specially designed pill bottle, with an electric cap, for 2 months. If eligible based on data collected from the bottle, participants will then be randomly assigned to 1 of 2 groups. Both groups will continue to use the specially desinged pill bottle for 12 additional weeks, and will also receive weekly education - either education on the care of their chronic kidney disease, or training by a research nurse on SystemCHANGE.
Participants will receive a $20 gift card after completing the initial 2 months of the study, and a $30 gift card at the completion of the study.

Eligibility

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions:
    Chronic Kidney Disease, CKD
  • Age: Between 18 Years - 100 Years
  • Gender: All

Individuals at least 18 years of age with chronic kidney disease, prescribed at least 1 daily RAAS inhibiting medication.
Kidney and kidney-pancreas transplant recipients will not be eligible.
