Impact of the Initial COVID-19 Response and the Following Delayed Care Surge on Patients Requiring Emergent, Urgent, and Elective Surgical Procedures

Overview

The purpose of this study is to identify health and quality of life-related issues that emerged for surgical patients and caregivers during the COVID-19 response.

Description

Participants will provide basic demographic and medical information, and participate in 3 interviews throughout the study: at the time of enrollment, 2-4 months later, and once the healthcare system returns to regular non-COVID emergency operations. Participants will receive $50 per completed interview.

Eligibility

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions:
    all
  • Age: Between 18 Years - 100 Years
  • Gender: All

Individuals at least 18 years of age who are adult patients admitted for injury, surgical oncology or bariatric patients who underwent or were scheduled to undergo an operation, caregivers of a minor admitted for injury, who were impacted by the COVID-19 response.
