Overview
Researchers at the Indiana University School of Nursing are seeking females for a study to test a new monitor that can measure hot flashes.
Description
Who is Eligible
This study is looking for women who meet criteria for one of two groups:
Group #1
- Females
- Ages 18-35
- Must have regular menstrual cycles and no hot flashes
Group #2
- Females
- Ages 45-60
- Must be experiencing hot flashes
Both Groups (#1 and #2)
- Must be fluent in English (read and write)
- Must not pregnant or breast-feeding
- Must not have Sjogren’s disease (disease associated with a loss of perspiration)
- Must be willing to wear a small monitor on chest and provide feedback
What is Involved
- Attend one 4-hr study visit at IUPUI campus in Indianapolis, IN
- Wear a small monitor on your chestWrite down your activities (such as sitting, walking, or eating) every 30 minutes
Compensation
- Participants will be mailed a $40 gift card after completing all of the study requirements.
