Improving Overall Quality of Life for Uterine Fibroid Patients

Overview

DO YOU OR SOMEONE YOU KNOW HAVE UTERINE FIBROIDS?  Join Our Study!

DID YOU KNOW?...
Uterine fibroids affect 26 million US reproductive-aged women, making it among the most common and costly reproductive health conditions AND t
he primary risk factor associated with uterine fibroids is being of the Black race, indicating significant health disparities.

Although most women are asymptomatic, 25-30% experience symptoms that significantly reduce quality of life, including heavy menstrual bleeding, infertility, and limitations in work/school attendance. When diagnosed, nearly half of women are unaware of uterine fibroids and their associated health issues.

Researchers at Purdue University are looking for women to take part in a study examining the healthcare experiences of uterine fibroids patients across the continuum of care, from early symptoms through diagnosis, treatment, and management.  This study is funded by Purdue University Women’s Global Health Institute and the Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute.

Your participation will help researchers gain information that will contribute to the body of knowledge concerning uterine fibroid education, diagnosis, and treatment.
