Black and African American Participants Needed for Chronic Pain Study!

Overview

ARE YOU A BLACK OR AFRICAN AMERICAN ADULT WITH CHRONIC PAIN?  Join Our Study!

DID YOU KNOW?... Research shows that minority patients, including Black or African American patients, are more likely to be undertreated for pain for a variety of reasons.

Researchers at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) are looking for adults to take part in a study looking at methods for improving pain care in Black or African American patients with chronic pain.

Your participation will help researchers to better understand how improving communication and engaging in shared decision-making with healthcare providers can lead to better care for patients.

Participants in this study will be paired with a health coach who will work with them on skills (like goal setting, agenda setting, and discussing pros and cons of certain treatments) to enable them to engage in shared decision-making with their healthcare providers and help improve their pain care.

All sessions are completed by phone or video-conference (NO in-person sessions are required).
