INSULIN TAKERS NEEDED! Help Us Test an Eating and Lifestyle App!

Overview

MONITORING EATING AND LIFESTYLE FOR DIABETES MANAGEMENT (MEAL-DM) STUDY

Researchers at Purdue University are looking for volunteers to take part in a study to help test an app we have created called MEAL-DM (Monitoring Eating And Lifestyle for Diabetes Management).

During the study, you will use this app on your smart phone to take pictures of the foods you eat or beverages you drink in a day, and then complete traditional online dietary surveys. We will also use the MEAL-DM tool to collect general lifestyle information, including physical activity level, sleep, and insulin status (for insulin takers only).

A physical fiducial marker (a small foam checkerboard) will need to be picked up at either Purdue campus in West Lafayette, IN, or Purdue extension in your county or can be mailed to your home. Aside from this, all study procedures can be completed online.

Adults 18-65 years of age who are either taking insulin OR are healthy (i.e. do not have any underlying conditions that would require change in diet) are eligible to participate.
