Validation of Smartphone Accelerometer and Application for the Measurement of Physical Activity
Overview
You are invited to participate in a research study that will compare three different data collection tools.
Each of these data collection tools measure the motion of your body to predict physical activity behaviors. We are measuring active young adults while walking and running on the treadmill to validate the data measured by a smartphone to two gold standard methods.
Description
The purpose of this study is to determine whether acceleration data collected by a smartphone app differs from the acceleration data collected by an ActiGraph physical activity monitor or 3D motion capture. We are comparing three different data collection tools. Each of these data collection tools measure the motion of your body to predict physical activity behaviors. We are measuring active young adults while walking and running on the treadmill to validate the data measured by a smartphone to two gold standard methods.
