Gait Analysis for Patients with Total Knee Replacement

Are you eligible to participate in this study?

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: healthy | total knee replacement
  • Age: Between 40 - 81 Years
  • Gender: Male or Female
Inclusion Criteria
Unilateral or bilateral knee joint replacement, with well-functioning knees, complaints of joint stiffness, and knee joint instability
Able to walk 10 meters without assistive devices
No history of other lower limb surgeries except Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA)
No rheumatoid arthritis, stroke, spinal cord injury, head trauma, peripheral diabetes or any other kind of neurological disease that can significantly influence the nervous system or gait pattern
 
OR
 
Un-injured controls
Younger than 40 or older than 70
Without history of lower limb surgeries or any other musculoskeletal disease
Without any neurological disease that can influence the nervous system or gain pattern
 
Exclusion Criteria
TKA patients diagnosed with infection, leg mal-alignment, implant dislocation, implant fracture or loosening, patella mal-tracking, peri-operative fracture or nerve injury as these conditions can significantly influence knee joint function
Patients unable to walk for at least 10 m without assistive devices.
