The purpose of this research study is to measure the change in knowledge, application and implementation of best practices by school personnel who attend our week-long summer training.

The purpose of this research study is to measure the change in knowledge, application and implementation of best practices by school personnel who attend our week-long summer training.

Eligibility

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions:
    Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Age: Between 4 Years - 100 Years
  • Gender: All

Inclusion Criteria
Student:
Diagnosis of Pervasive Developmental Disorder
Participant has been stabilized with medical and/or other interventions
Children and adolescents between the ages of 4-16 years inclusive.
Educator Inclusion Criteria:
Educator(s) with the role of Teacher of Record
Educator(s) working within the state of Indiana
Educator(s) who are fully licensed in Special Education to teach in the state of Indiana
Parent/Caregiver Inclusion Criteria:
Willing to speak on a panel along with other parent/caregiver participants
Willing to allow program staff into his/her home to conduct naturalistic observations
Willing to complete a home observation and Parent Survey
Willing to be observed, videotaped, photographed, and have his/her image streamed via a secure distance learning system
Willing to allow their child to be observed, videotaped, photographed, and to have his/her image streamed via a secure distance learning system
Willing to bring child into the clinic or model classroom for an informal assessment
Exclusion Criteria
Student Exclusion Criteria:
Behaviors of the intensity or frequency appropriate for hospitalization will not be considered
Do not fall within the age range of 4
