Overview

The purpose of this study is to measure speech production in the presence of background noise.

Description

The purpose of this study is to determine whether differences seen in variations of the Lombard effect are attributable to distance or to the specific task.

Eligibility

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions:
    healthy
  • Age: Between 18 Years - 39 Years
  • Gender: All

Inclusion Criteria
Normal hearing in both ears
Native speakers of American English
Exclusion Criteria
History of speech and language disorder in the past five years or significant tinnitus or hyperacusis
Formal vocal training

This study takes place on the IU Bloomington campus.

Participants will be paid for their participation.
