A Study of the Effects of Experimental Rinse Formulations Ex Vivo in an In-Situ Biofilm Mode
Domenick Zero, DDS, MS
Primary Investigator
Overview
Phase A: To determine if treatment ex vivo with an experimental rinse containing dextranase and mutanase decreases extracellular polysaccharide formation and the mass of biofilm on a bovine enamel specimen compared to the placebo rinse in a two week in-situ biofilm model. Phase B: To determine if treatment ex vivo with an experimental rinse containing dextranase and mutanase followed by an essential oils rinse versus an essential oils product alone decreases extracellular polysaccharide formation and the mass of biofilm on a bovine enamel specimen compared to the placebo rinse in a two week in-situ biofilm model.
