Do you identify as Black or African American and are currently pregnant or have recently been pregnant?
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Researchers at Indiana University School of Medicine are looking for Black adults who are pregnant or have been pregnant in the past year to take part in a study that is looking to identify things that can be changed related to the barriers Black birthing people experience when attempting to access quality maternal healthcare.
Description
If you agree to be in the study, you will do the following things.
This study involves collection of information about you. If you agree to participate in this study, you will do the following:
- Participate in one 60- 90 minute focus group.
Focus group questions will focus on your experiences interacting with healthcare teams to gain access to healthcare.
· How was your experience booking an appointment?
· How easy or difficult was it to book an appointment?
· How did you feel about this experience?
· What have you (dis)liked about the way doctors have talked to you?
· What types of things could a doctor do or say that would make you think they were acting as an ally for Black birthing people?
You will be paid for participating in this study. You will receive payment of a $100 gift card for participation in the focus group.
There is no cost to participate in the study.
We will protect your information and make every effort to keep your personal information confidential, but we cannot guarantee absolute confidentiality.
Eligibility
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

Age: Between 18 Years - 100 Years

Gender: All
Inclusion Criteria:
- Black birthing people who are at least 18 years of age
- English-speaking
- Are currently pregnant or have been pregnant in the past year
- Currently living in Indiana
