Overview
The purpose of this study is to test the Periviable GOALS (Getting Optimal Alignment around Life Support) decision support tool (DST) among pregnant women (and their significant others) who are hospitalized for a potential periviable (early premature) delivery. We will evaluate the Periviable GOALS decision Support Tool's effects on shared decision quality, mental health, and neonatal treatment preference.
Description
Researchers will interview pregnant participants before and after giving birth. Some participants will receive additional decision-making support from a trained team member using the Periviable GOALS decision support tool.
Eligibility
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

Conditions:
preterm delivery, pregnancy

Age: Between 18 Years - 100 Years

Gender: All
Inclusion Criteria:
- Pregnancy complication posing threat of periviable delivery between 22-24 weeks gestation
Exclusion Criteria:
- Pregnant persons in active labor
- Pregnant persons who have not been counseled by their healthcare team
- Pregnant persons not admitted for reasons indicative of a threatened early delivery
- Known fatal fetal anomaly.
