Overview

The purpose of this study is to understand experiences of families who are currently using or who previously used a hybrid closed loop insulin-delivery system (HCL) or sensor-augmented pump therapy (SAP) for diabetes management of their child 2-10 years old using semi-structured qualitative interviews. The qualitative data collected through the interviews from parents will inform future intervention studies designed to improve diabetes management and psychosocial outcomes of youth and parents using HCL and understand the barriers for those who no longer are using this technology.

Description

The Parent/Guardian will participate in one semi-structured qualitative interview, which will query their experiences with HCL/SAP, including: Experiences of HCL/SAP use for T1D management, how families decided to use HCL/SAP and expectations, benefits and challenges of HCL/SAP use for child (e.g., glycemic outcomes) and parents (e.g., sleep, stress), reasons for stopping HCL/SAP use (if applicable), etc. Parents will also be asked for their input on ways to intervene helpfully with families using HCL to support optimal HCL use in this population.
