Overview
Why is this study being done?
The purpose of this study is to understand how instructional text messaging may affect diet management in young adults with Type 2 diabetes. The results of this project may be used to develop messages to help inform and improve the knowledge and diet of individuals with Type 2 diabetes.
Who can take part?
Adults ages 18-45 who have been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes before or during 2021.
All parts of the study are virtual and can be completed online - NO IN-PERSON VISITS or TRAVEL REQUIRED.
Description
What will happen during the study?
- If you are eligible and choose to participate, you will complete an initial online survey, which should take about 15 minutes to complete.
- You will then be enrolled in a two-week intervention where you will receive two daily text messages (28 messages total).
- At the end of the two-week period, you will take another survey, which should take about 15 minutes to complete.
Incentive/compensation
- You will receive a $10 digital Amazon gift card for completing all of the study requirements.

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

Conditions:
Type 2 diabetes

Age: Between 18 Years - 45 Years

Gender: All
Inclusion Criteria:
- Diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes prior to or in 2021
- Struggle with diet management
- Ability to read and write in English
- Have a working mobile phone
